The Computer Problem

A store sells three types of computer:

1. The kind that always gives you the correct answer,
2. The kind that always gives you the incorrect answer, and
3. The kind that answers randomly, sometimes correctly and sometimes incorrectly.

You want a “consistant” computer (i.e. either i or ii). Right now, there are three computers in the store, one of each type. The computers know their own type and type of the other computers in the store. The store manager will allow you to ask one yes/no question to one computer only.

Is question you can ask that will allow you to make a safe choice?
